Summary and Qualifications The Trauma Coordinator works in
collaboration with the Director of Trauma Services and Trauma
Medical Director, to ensure quality care for trauma patients. The
Trauma Coordinator participates in performance improvement,
outreach, injury prevention and other activities as indicated by
departmental needs. The Trauma Coordinator is responsible for
monitoring and maintaining compliance with State of Florida Trauma
Center Standards, American College of Surgeon Orange Book
standards, Joint Commission standards, state/federal regulations,
and corporate/hospital policies, procedures, and practice
management guidelines.What you will do in this role:
- Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of the
Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety Plan.
- Maintain the Trauma PI database to ensure adequate
documentation as required by regulatory agencies.
- Complete concurrent review of cases to identify quality,
timelines and systems of care to meet state standards.
- Participate in hospital education programs for nurses and
resident physicians caring for trauma patients.
- Serve as a liaison to the clinical areas responsible for trauma
patients.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary monthly Trauma Systems &
Operations Committee and Peer Review meetings. What qualifications
you will need:
- Minimum of 3-5 years nursing experience required
- 3 years recent experience in Trauma nursing preferred.
- Quality/Performance Improvement preferred.
- Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized
Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements,
including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration
provisions)
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Masters Degree in Nursing preferred
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification or must be
obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification or must be
obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- TNCC and/or TCAR required HCA Florida Kendall Hospital is
located in west Miami-Dade County. Our acute care facility has
417-beds. Our services include trauma, burn, surgical, women's and
children's services, behavioral health and diagnostic services. We
have two full service free-standing ER facilities. HCA Florida
